I wanted to be experimental with the camera again and as I'd just gone for a shop I thought that I could photograph some of my favourite things...of course I wasn't the only one with my eye on them!

Fruit and custard tartlet on my Nan's china - indulgence with a touch of goodness!

Whose finger is that?!

Roses are so elegant and beautiful

Luke loves them too.

While photographing the roses Luke added one of his favourite things to the pot - a big fat slug!!

Gorgeous
Well someone likes them!!

Peace and light

Matt has taken Luke swimming and I started to spend my time running around tidying the house in a mad way but ended up reading in the bath.  I am reading Rococo and the descriptive language is truly sumptious. The light was shining through the window and for a few moments I felt very calm and peaceful. Everything looked wonderful.

I wanted to capture the moment of beautiful light in my house and so went to find my camera but by the time I'd found it the light had almost gone. Also there seems to be no area that is particularly tidy through the lense - a new mission?!!

Now I know the clock is ticking Iim trying to hold onto my creative time...started looking at shadows in the house then decided to go outside and explore the sunshine and these photos were the outcome of my playtime. Now I can hear voices downstairs...x

What do you want from life?

Autumn berry picking!

Went for a walk with Luke to enjoy the late afternoon sun and couldn't get him away from the blackberries!
Felt wonderful in to be out in nature; energised and alive. He seems so much happier out in the open.
Thinking more and more about creative projects and the more I look the more I see!

Blogging

I have written a diary since I was eleven and not surprisingly the style and content has changed alot over the years.  My first diary was mainly about food. Over time my ramblings were more about my emotions and I have found writing very theraputic. I have turned anxieties into creativity and created positive plans out of chaos.  When I was pregnant I kept a record of exciting moments and after I had Luke when I had a spare moment I recorded events of his life. Throughout the bad and good times I have found alot of comfort in recording my experiences.

I thought that blogging would be like writing a journal and in a way it is. It makes me think about my life experiences and what to do next but editing makes me think too much!! At the moment I find it easier just to write without thought but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

I am learning about blogging and I am looking in awe at the amazing creativity that it has inspired in people and I hope that it doesn't put me off. I hope you forgive my fumblings as I'm on a steep learning curve. But then surely that is good for me!! Please feel free to make recommendations.

Looking at the determination that Luke has to make it to the next step of his development is inspiring me to do the same!

Keep moving on, love Linda x

My top motivators

About ten years ago I attended a course for Improving the Self-Esteem and Confidence of Children and Adults (ISECCA) and I loved it. It really inspired me.  Before that I had become the Primary School teacher that I had aspired to be and then I was drifting along; living without direction. The course opened my eyes to positive thinking and goal setting in particular. After that I looked into many areas of self-improvement.

Recently, as a fairly new mum I realised that although some of my goals had changed I still have many needs and ambitions in my life - even if only to get some quality relaxation time and enjoy the journey of learning.

These are some of my top motivators, please feel free to recommend more!

  1. Anthony Robbins - He is so inspiratonal in so many areas of life, I love listening to him on you tube when I'm doing washing up and other chores!
  2. Lou Tice - My original inspiration. I had a set of CDs that I could play in the car on the way to work and I would feel ready for the day.
  3. Dawna Walter - I love to be in a clutter free environment, if only for a moment.
  4. Anthea Turner - She is a new inspiration to me, no-one folds towels like she does! Her Perfect Housewife series had a lovely traditional charm. (Must be the Mummy side of me!)
  5. Dale Carnegie - Someone asked me what had I changed in my life after reading 'Stop worrying, sart living' as I looked so much happier!
  6. SARK- I love her ideas to develop creativity, reading her work is like being in an art gallery.
  7. Alvin Hall - He inspires me to sort my money out.  I just have to look at his beaming face and it feels good to save!
  8. Fiona Harrold - The book 'Be your Own Life Coach' has loads of great ideas in and it's written with a female perspective. If nothing else; I feel better when I read this book!
  9. Dawn Breslin - I found 'Zest for Life' in an Oxfam book shop lately and I'm so glad I did.  She reawakened my passion to learn and grow.

  10. Dr Laura Schlessinger - The book 'The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands' may cause a few people to tut at it's title but a lot of the contents are so informative.  It really openend my eyes to a relationship that I had already been in for about seventeen years and helped to create more harmony.  We even got married this summer...

Have fun on your journey.

Welcome!

Whilst sat here gazing at a blank page on the computer screen thinking about what to write to introduce my blog to the world I can hear that my young son Luke has just woken up.  It is so tempting to leave this new adventure to comfort him but fortunately tonight my husband Matt was nearby and helped to settle him.  Feeling relieved that I had a little longer for my creative experience I began to type when Matt came down to look for me and encourage me to go to bed! This is a typical snatched 5 minutes of 'me time' and in essence is why I wanted to start this blog...
